Too much so. I had one waiting in ambush as I let the ducks out. No sooner were they out of the fenced area and going to their food that it jumped out and snatched one. It was so fast, the rest of the flock never had a chance to react or notice! They went about their feeding as if nothing had happened, it was that quick. That was the day the ducks and chickens were no longer allowed out of their pen.

coop/run. And it's not the first time I've lost birds this way. 2 years ago I lost some of her aunts the same way. That prompted me to reinforce the wire, as the base wire has large openings. I made it possible for her to get touched by keeping a waterer close to the fence, and not moving it away from it

That is true. I don't know how this one managed to break through the small-holed wire (not chicken wire), and get Heartbreak-her within reach, but it will. It was pullets last time as well. They are obviously not as wary, but there is no way for them to get their heads touch if they don't voluntarily move it close to the fence
