Well… I did it. Kind of. I didn’t really get the message past.
I told my mom I “like a girl.”
She said “I like girls too.”
I don’t think she got what I was saying.
One of my grandmother's is the same way. She was like 'every girl has at least one girl friend. I've got three close ones!'

Oh jeez. All jokes aside that sucks. I know it takes a lot of confidence and it’s hard when it’s all for nothing :hugs

So depending on how many she hatches, what's the ratio or % of the chicks being Silkie feathered like Scout?
I know there's no way to tell right now but it seems interesting to think about
What are the mothers?

Silky feathering is recessive, so the chicks would need to 2 silky genes. If Scout is silky then he would pass 1 gene to all the chicks

if the mother is silky all chicks would be silky

If the mother carries silky then it will be a 50% chance (per chick) of being silky and 50% chance they will just be a carrier

If the mother doesn't carry silky then, all the chicks will be carriers

This should be correct unless there is something I don't know about the silky gene 😆

Thank you!
Let me get photos of all the Seramas in the morning for you

I am not going to complain about pictures! 😆 but I more meant what breed, are the silky or not, etc. I think chances are if they are normal feathered Serama that aren't related to silky feathered ones they won't carry the gene. I might be wrong though somebody who knows the breed better will have a better idea of how common the gene is in the breed

The gene has been found in the breed, but this can also be a case of a mixed strain, meaning a silkie entering the family line a few generations back. That could yield the same result. If Scout and said pullet are related, there's a good chance she's heterozygous silkied (meaning a carrier). If they're not, then all their kids will be heterozygous silkied
