LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

I guess I can't hug him before planting, :gig but I will train him NOT to be evil, you will see! I think he will become my favorite plant! ♥️

You know what, with all that bullying this plant has endured before even getting to your home, it might actually play nice out of spite, and make us all look like fools!

Wild prickly pears are SO resilient. We had to have our electric utility pole replaced last year because it was ready to crack in half. There was a quite large growth of prickly pears beneath the old pole but unfortunately the construction and digging decimated the plant. I was sure it was gone for good. Well wouldn't you know, a few months later a leaf popped out of the ground! He is still thriving in our drought, new leaves, even a couple of flower buds!

Im sure he knows we are talking about him in his shipping box, poor plant! 🤣 I think I will name him Angel because I just know he's going to be one. 😇 ♥️

Just came out (via note) to a person in my dance class who, according to one of the girls who does a different class with her, is non-binary (? “They/them”pronouns… not sure if they’re still a girl, or if they’re not. As you can see I’m new to this, so please enlighten me.) I don’t know the person that well, but they seem very quiet, and so seem like somebody who I can tell.
So yeah. That’s my shabby little update!

I just repotted this monster. This Haworthia was given to me 4 years ago, it had been neglected with no light, no water for over 2 months, it had dead leaves and looked pretty bad. It was only 1 plant (the tall one in the back is the original plant) and had one baby growing out of the side. But I didn't know anything about separating back then, hence the forest of craziness you see here! 🤣 But it lives, is in constant bloom and loves life! 4 years later...

What a beauty! Looks like that pot will serve it for quite a while!

Thanks! I cleaned off all the dirt and while its got some long thick roots, its really a shallow grower. I think this pot will serve him another couple of years, I hope. If he gets too much bigger, I will need to cut down a big drum to plant him in. 🤣
