LGBTQ+ Poultry Keepers

Anything new that my kids can do is a good thing, so in this case yes!

Dont worry about your kiddo, I know That’s easier said than done as a Mom also... but all we can really do is lead by example, show support, speak respectfully about others, and let him know you’re ok with whatever he wants to be and you’ll love him unconditionally no matter what he is.
That’s our job really, just be there as they need support as they grow into independent adults.
:hugs
Thank you. You totally get it. :hugs

Dad and I don’t need to be the first ones he tells about his emotions/feelings/loves (after all what guy wants to talk about that with his parents?), just as long as he trusts us enough to loop us in at some point and doesn’t feel unable to tell us. Otherwise I’ve seriously messed up in communicating the things you’ve said!

I don’t have a problem with it. Why would I? I am not lgbt, but it is very near and dear to my heart. I’d love to learn more about you, about your struggles and your birds. What all do you raise?
I’m glad to hear that! I’ve raised chickens for 4 years, and I’m getting ducks again this year :)

Has anyone ever been to a Pride Parade before?

This year's might actually be happening here and I was hoping to go to my first ever Pride Parade but I'm quite nervous.
I’ve been to San Francisco and East bay Pride events as a spectator and a volunteer. It is a huge celebration of life, love, and family. People come together as a community and it’s just awesome.

If you’re worried about protestors, there may be those — at least at the big events. But we’ve come a long way since the old days. Here we get so few of them now that we just turn up the music and keep dancing. If you can go with a friend it’s 10x more fun.

Hi there :frow
I’m currently raising a mixed flock of 4 chickens, and never raised any other types of poultry in my 10 years experience. What about you?

I have been to the Mermaid Parade in Brooklyn, NY and the Gay Pride week in Manhattan, NYC. Both were very fun, very wild, and very....uncensored. The Mermaid parade is known for its raunchiness but even I was shocked, and I do not shock easily. The Manhattan one was a little more laid back but still very fun and pretty wild. I don't know if they are all like that or just the huge ones in NYC.
