Rarely is a hatch a complete failure unless something goes horribly wrong. So I think things will go well. Broodies can go flakey, if Cruella quits at anytime, you can always put her eggs in the machine.![]()
That is what I'll do. First time round I didn't have a bator, but this time I do! Is it possible that a broody never leaves the nest to eat and drink, or doesn't do it enough?
?
Let her go all day today and see how she does. And she may be getting a quick drink of water and you don't see it happen. By tomorrow you should notice her getting off her nest by mid morning, if you've seen no signs of her budging by noon tomorrow, scoop her off the nest.
Not all broodies make good moms, and especially first timers, they can make mistakes.
