I hardly talked to him anymore, but started to again lately, thought he understood and respected my sexuality. I was rambling about women, while we were on the topic of relationship stuff-- then he makes a move on me??

It wouldn't be a safe spot if you couldn't rant a bit. I'm sorry this happened to you, people can be so dumb sometimes. (And I say this as a former anthropology major)

Tbh it isn't even the first time I've had to politely reject his attemps, happened years ago and I foolishly thought we were past it, especially after I came out to him, ghhh

I've been on this forum for some time now, so I think it's time I make my formal introduction on this thread. Oof, a little nervous, but hey, we need to stay strong right? I'm a newer member of the LGBTQIA+ community, only realized about 2.5 years ago. I do regularly debate homophobic views, but I don't tend to be very public about my sexuality while doing so, so this is a big leap for me. If you've met me in other threads, you'll know I'm a very indecisive person, and I usually don't like to finalize things until the very end. I think that's all I have to say for now, and I'm so sorry for what happened with your friend. Sometimes people are cruel

Had an HR class yesterday. Apparently negative comments and joked about LGTBQ+ people are not allowed. Neat. I honestly wasn't sure or not

Yes. When I was a kid, the closet door was FIRMLY nailed shut. T, Q, I, A, were just letters in the alphabet.

I think back to the adults I knew as a kid. I'm sure some of them were gay. I wish I could go back in time to give them each a hug.

Some adults still are. I live in Greece, so things are wayyyy different over here. You need to be very careful with who you share your sexuality, but things are pretty bad for everyone here. Racism is at an all time high, sexism is off the charts, especially after a certain Andrew (I don't want to even finish writing his name) guy. But still, things are changing for the better
