Got woken up by mama duck making so much noise and went out to find her ducklings dead in the nest
I'm not completely sure what caused their death but I didn't see any injuries so that can be ruled out
Mama duck is going nuts right now looking for her babies
I feel like this could have been avoided even if I don't know what killed them
That really sucks, I'm sorry :(
Poor mama...
Is she a first time broody?

Maybe if i wanted a registered flock, show prospects or amazing milkers. I dont really want either of those 3 though.

The price referenced was for Nigerian Dwarves. La Manchas are at the low end of that proce range too. Haven't even bothered looking at Cashmere or Saanans yet because I know they're gonna be even more

Oh I love Nigerian dwarves! Have you looked at any registered breeders yet? It's kidding season so some will sell some of their mature does for a better price

I had a hen kill her babies by accident once trying to go after a mouse in the dark that was in her nest

Those are some registered breeders. I ain't buying for a few years at the earliest so I can't do much digging apart from just what on the website.

I'm aware you are already looking at registered breeders. I was suggesting you talk to those breeders about yearlings or older, but since you won't be getting them for some time then there's not much of a point. Maybe do some networking at shows, if you're willing to go to said shows, so you'd be known in the community?
