It's because she can't fly. Long story short, one and a half years ago she got sick, so she was separated from the flock. While in the med bay (as I like to call it) she got attacked by a predator, who bit off three of her toes (that's why she's named Koutsi) and obviously in the commotion she hurt her wing. I didn't notice that until way later, as there isn't room to fly in the med bay flock. That's the reason I made the ladder, but apparently she ain't a fan

Oh poor girl! Koutsi may just find comfort being around Cruella, especially if she's handicapped, maybe she feels secure and safe and thinks she won't be harmed.

It's very possible actually. She recently lost her best friend, since they were moved in with the main flock, but Koutsi did not do well there, so she went in with the bantams. As the only other normal feathered bird in the coop, maybe Koutsi feels closer to Cruella than she does Ursula?

Birds do mourn their best friends death and for some reason Koutsi has possibly befriended Cruella now, Cruella must very on the same wave length as Koutsi. I have seen similar actions in my flock, some birds need a buddy and will go in search of another if their best friend dies. Handicapped birds feel especially vulnerable, Koutsi obviously feels something for Cruella. I would just leave Koutsi be and let her roost at Cruellas side, now that I know the story behind this, I insist she stays! ❤

Her best friend is one of the feistiest Tsouloufati I have (the one that fought two hens with a gaping wound on her side that I wrote about in my article) so she fit in really well, and is now one of the top hens. Koutsi didn't like that environment at all, so she always as far as she could from the others. But still, it seems she found a new bestie

Oh that's sad they drifted apart. It happens. I am very happy that Koutsi has found a new friend and it's not out of the realm that both Cruella and Koutsi raises the babies. If Cruella allows it of course. It's happens occasionally that two hens to care for the chicks. Wouldn't that be cute?!

That would be ADORABLE! It would also mean I could give them more babies, because Cruella is a bitty little thing. I don't know how well roosting time will be, since I'm sure Cruella will take the babies to roost as high as possible as soon as possible. If it happens though, I'll take a bunch of photos. As for tomorrow, I'll try to entice Cruella out again with some kind of treat and see how she does

It's happens occasionally that two hens to care for the chicks

That's what happens about 2/3 of the time with my birds, especially my mixed flock amd Cornish bantams. My silkies are too broody protective to share a nest sometimes.
