Michigan

It is!Looks like a nice state!
The UP is lovely. And I'm very fond of where I live, Belding, about 40 minutes drive from Grand Rapids (lower Peninsula).Michigan is a gorgeous state. Love the Upper Peninsula!

She might just forgot. I have hens that occasionally forget if the eggs go out of sightGreat. So that happened. I went down at the coops, to switch the free range flocks. Miss Cruella was out of the nest and clucking away. Not poofy, not anything. She just squealed when anyone came near. Preening, all the good stuff. Alarms went off. I went in and checked the eggs. They weren't warm. HOW CAN THEY NOT BE WARM WHEN ITS FRICKING SCORCHING OUTSIDE?! She's been out for some time, i gather. I kind of guided her back in the nest. As soon as she saw the eggs, she sat right back down and stopped clucking. Is she breaking already?!

Oh that's terrible!I really hope that's the case. Of course I'd prefer she stays healthy, but I'd really like a successful hatch out of her. I never had Cruella for a dumb bird, bit it did seem like as soon as she saw the nest something sparked in her eyes
Oh that's terrible!Unfortunately not all broodies know what to do or make good mothers.
If she's still off the eggs you could pop them in the bator?
Hopefully this was just a fluke. Eggs can go cold and still survive, for a while anyway. Predators often scare moms off their nests in the wild and the eggs can be exposed for hours until it's safe to go back to setting. Tell Cruella to stay put!!!Thankfully after she saw the nest she went right in and has been sitting on them well for more than 22 minutes (since I typed that message around 5 minutes after showing her the nest). So I really don't know what that was
