Sounds like she may be flakey with her broodiness. Some hens never go deep into broodiness and this will cause them to abandon ship too early or get distracted easily. Being broody is controlled by several things from how much hormones she has moving through her body, her genetic makeup, her breed, the environment and her health. So all you can do is keep her healthy as possible and offer her the most inviting spot to go broody in, one she feels is the perfect place to raise her babies. Of course keeping your fingers crossed the entire time!![]()
