The ducks refused to go back inside their yard last night so I decided to just let them be. I just went out to feed everyone and remembered that I never locked the ducklings up but they're fine. Everyone is currently happily wandering around the yard acting like nothing was wrong.

No activity, that I can see. I think I heard the faintest of peeps, but with all them cicadas having concerts, I will not be swearing on it. Electric Lady still has no condensation, humidity is the same

Yes there could be babies under her fluff. You will find out tomorrow morning!

I guess this is the only way to properly do this experiment is to let the machine do its thing, this way we can assess the entire process in the end. First hatches can be stressful since it's all uncharted territory.

Lockdown definitely proves to be! I think what I'm going to do henceforth is whenever I need to add water to the bator, I will also be giving a few spritses of the sunscreen. Somehow I have a feeling the eggs under Cruella will hatch at a layer date

I think this is a good idea with the spritz, I really think the humidity is low in spite of what the machine is reading.

It always amazes me how nature does it, eggs hatch that are 3 weeks old, laying in odd positions, the most arid of conditions, freezing over night lows, roasting temps during the day, and ALL eggs hatch. In our micro environments of the incubator, 1 degree off, a tad drier than it should be, eggs that were not completely vertical during storage, and boom.... all eggs fail us. Crazy!

Right?! Even though I am in literally no position to be talking, I really think it's us stressing about it. Opening the incubator multiple times a day, making things *too* perfect

You are probably right there, I know I am a "fiddler" when it comes to incubating, everything needs to be perfect!

I am not a perfectionist, but I am a worrier. My mind is constantly asking questions like "what if the extra bit of water kills them?", "I pressed on that egg the wrong way, maybe I suffocated the chick inside" stuff like that. It's tiring

I am like that too, horrible worrier! My mind is my worst enemy, its determined to kill me one day.
