When I was working on my novel and got stuck, sometimes I just wrote step-by-step what the character was doing/had to do to advance the story.Welp, I got another couple sentences done. Out of my element a bit with the whole 'sass and confident in the face of possible death or imprisonment" thing my main character has going on right now
"Ben got up. He took a shower. The hot water felt good on his 45 year old body."
Step by step, WAY too slow and too much info/boring stuff. But I got writing and made some progress. Most of this was cut, of course. Sometimes just writing lit the fire under me.
And sometimes I got an idea...
. The cockerel was the most scared for sure, he was jumping and freaking out all over the place. Definitely his father's son
