Do Seramas need added heat in extreme cold temps? We get below zero quite often in January.
I've always been told that if it gets below like 40, they can be at risk. But I was told the same for quail, and my little beasties did better than half my chickens did in the freeze 2 years ago. They had a bit of heat last year though because they're ancient

I have never kept Seramas, but I should. They are cute little things. ❤ They do look like powerful fliers, I suppose because they are tiny?

I don't know if it is just the fact that they're tiny, I think the fact that their wings are really big compared to the body also helps. They're just incredibly buoyant and agile. I've seen my fair share of good fliers, but it just doesn't compare. And you should definitely get them

Wow, it's always 40 degrees or below at night here. I remember being told quail can't tolerate extreme temp changes from night to day or it would kill them. We get 30 to 40 degree differences from night to day 365 days a year, even 50 degrees difference occasionally. Never lost a quail. Some people don't know what their talking about.

I honestly think people overreact when it comes to how much extra heat they need. It's not something I've had to worry about much (because Greece). We get about two to three weeks a year where the temps get iffy, and after discussing it with some other serama owners, we settled that some tarps would be more than enough

I noticed that, seems like they are all wings! :D This would definitely contribute to their flying skills. I am considering Seramas!
