I've been tired for days, probably just the changes in weather and or fall allergies.

Hopefully she holds off on the broodiness for a while, builds up her reserves and spends time being just a hen. I've found that my best broodies don't take too much time off though. If she goes broody after visits with Lady Gaga, I'd definitely let nature take its course this time and not assist her. She did really well this first time, she will no doubt get even better at it next time around.

Are the babies missing their mom?

.Yup, that's my plan! It'll be interesting to see how she does all alone, which I think she'll do great with, but also how she'll keep the babies warm. Thus brood didn't go under her fluff once, except for the night. The babies are not missing mom! I was told Cruella was a little upset for a little while, but next morning she was back to normal. This is day two or three without babies, and she's back in the nest doing whatever, so she was obviously just keeping them because she could

Teenage babies.... "we don't need mom anymore! "

Hopefully Cruella wasn't too stressed over their removal at the time. Broodies bounce back pretty quick though. She did her job and that's closure enough psychologically for her.

Yeah, it wasn't my first choice either (actually it was one of the last things that i wanted to happen), but now nothing can be done. They can just barely see eachother, so that's that

Yes I was going to ask you if they can see each other. I'm sure they can hear one another too. This is good for all involved, neither should think a predator took the other out.

Good, at least I did that part right. And yes, they most definitely can hear one another. No, the brooder babies and the spawn are in together from the moment they got separated from mom. They're doing good together. In a few weeks they'll get to be with their biological parents (except for one)

Oh good, all the babies are together! Helps chicks socialize better. I think you've done everything right with this hatch, it's been a great success!

Thank you! If the hatching eggspert says so, I'm content ! Stick around for next year I guess! Next year I'm estimating at least 6 broodies, as well as Electric Lady

I think it is! A lot of people in this thread are working dog people I've noticed

Our first two dogs were Dobermans. Wonderful dogs.
