If you do not wish to work so much with customers, maybe try maintenance, or night crew. Most stores desperately need overnight stockers. Just say no to front end! You will quit within a week if you choose to work the front!
Glad to hear you still think fondly of your time there, yes stuff happens, everybody makes mistakes.

But yes, this is what I was wondering, I've been a cashier and can't do it anymore, people are just too much for me. :D I think I could do other parts of the store like pets, garden or pharmacy area, I just don't trust they would start me in a good area and force me to do cashier and up front work later?.... Yes I WOULD quit!

Now THIS I could do but I'm not a night owl, so... 💤

But glad your brother likes it, I've heard the pay is really good for night stockers!
Oh then scratch some of what I said. 😂

The customers are not all that bad, really. It is the few that are horrible that make every customer look like a slimy pickle. But I had encountered so many decent, fun people that I always tried to keep them in the forefront of my brain while dealing eith the bad ones. And if the good ones see a bad one, they are usually right there with you making some of the most horrible jokes at the rude person's expense. 😂

My favorite moment happened shortly after I first started working there. Multiple team leads were called back to help us in electronics because a couple were throwing piss fits over us not selling them a laptop that was on sale at another Walmart (sale prices are based on stock and if the store plans on ordering more). The couple finally left screaming that they were never coming back, and I was a dick and, without once thinking of the fact that there were superiors around, called out: Oooh no, that will sure teach us! The team leads just stared at me, and I went: Crap. Did that actually come out!? I thought I just thought it! I made 3 new team lead friends that day. 🤣

Same here. 11-11.45 is the latest I stayed up to work on my books when I was on summer leave. I can't do the whole sleeping in past 9 though l, even if I somehow stayed up and safely drove home the next morning for work
Yes your body gets trained. Normally I can't stay awake past 9pm anymore. :lau

Yes this is what I've heard, $20 bucks an hour. I have always had to get up early too so I go to bed early as well. Never developed the night owl style. I'd be asleep on the job by 11pm if I worked the night shift. :gig
Early mornings are not that bad to work. I had to go in before the store opened on Easter this year so I could get out by 2:30 for family time, and it was almost dead until about noon.

I remember at the Family Dollar as a cashier, SO many people blamed ME for the prices, as if I set them! Yeah right pal, I own the store, work as a cashier and I raised the price of toilet paper because I'm greedy. :gigI couldn't stand the ignorance, but I did have some favorite regulars that I nearly became good friends with.

I got pulled regularly to work front end because I was fast and I could handle it. But Walmart is accustomed to having cashiers sign off in the middle of a transaction and just leave and never come back, so they do not force it on any employee who says that they cannot handle it. And I warn you now, Lawn and Garden sucks pickle juice! Stay away from it! I was trained in, and regularly worked, every area of the store except apparel and food. Pharmacy is a nightmare. If you want daytime work that deals with the least customers, go to OGP or Home Lines (these are the names for it, and HR will be happy that you do not need a full breakdown of what they are if you already know about them). I, myself, loved electronics! I still linger there to hang out eith my buddies whenever I go in. There are a lot of stupid people to deal with, but you learn early on that sometimes you just have to flat out lie to the customer to save your sanity. It is fun, though, to learn the photo lab. At Christmas, it can be very, very hard work, but it is still enjoyable. 😊
