I think they where rotting, so should I removing them from the new soil to dry? just put them on top of the soil?

I'd play it safe by air drying them a bit, yes

Hey y'all! Happy Pride!!

I've been MIA for quite a while - got a new coop, new chicks, and bees! (I think I *may* have overdone it).

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm going to try and keep up better...

Here's my new babies :

2 x Olive Egger
2 x Blue Rock
2 x Noir Marans
1 x White Leghorn
3 x Cream Legbar
(aside from the Leghorn and the CCL I have no idea who's who).

Beautiful new chicks (despite the fact there are no bantams) and cool bees! Always thought bee keeping was very interesting

18 peep-ers this morning one did need assisting a bit, so it's probably not going to do well

They have started earlier with their attempted suicide. I put 8 in the brooder yesterday, found all of them ,except one lying scattered around the brooder cold it's never happened before. I put them back into the incubator and they are all fine now!

Hopefully when you take them out again they'll be more considerate with their lives!

I'm VERY new to beekeeping. There's SO much to learn and I feel completely ill-prepared. I've been studying for months, but it still feels pretty overwhelming.

Me too! Even though we've had them a year, I'm still nervous about opening the hive. We need to do that today, to take out the Apivar strips (miticide), and put on queen excluders and honey supers.

We now have two hives. We started with one, and it survived the winter. We had a very mild winter, and maybe we had a bit of luck too. When we checked the hive this spring, it was bursting at the seams with bees, so we split it and are hoping that we will have two strong hives going into this next winter.

After all night to think about what they did... well didn't do. They seem to have worked it out!

Had to help 3 more. I think thats all of them, every last egg that went into lockdown! Will be the first time all of them have piped and zipped to some extent
