No, no bites. I am very careful with the ones I know to have a sharp prey response. I will not handle them at all, and just in general only handle when I transfer them between enclosures and if they seem to be in a gentle mood.
In scottish: You don'ne **** aboot with the giant spood in the mood. 😁
Fabulous you are able to read their body language! What do you feed them?

There is a wild Mammillia cactus that sprouted up this year, I see him on my walk every day, he is so cute! I will get a photo when I walk that way next. 😊

Oh wild succulents are so cool! I once found some very cool little succulents on the side of the road, blooming. It was very beautiful. That's the beauty of wild succulents, I find. They are hard to spot, but so rewarding; like tittle treasures!

Its fun to find blooming cacti! We've got lots of Cholla and Mammillia up here, down in the desert there are SO many varieties of cacti and succulents!

Cholla are the "jumping" cacti, right? Gorgeous, but slightly painful if you get too close:lau?
That's what they call them because the arms aren't all that attached so if you brush up on one, the arm sticks on you. 🤣

This plant is in the yard, it bloomed something crazy this year! About 1 1/2 meters tall...(This was late spring before our monsoon season, thankfully its been raining and the grass is green and thick!)

Now I get why you weren't phased by the threat of the opuntia! You're familiar with dangerous cacti :lau !

Ugh, they're so pretty though

I ain't a scared of no cactus. :gig Yeah I am. 🤣 I totally agree, they sure are pretty!

Same. They probably scare me more than they should. Given the location of the opuntia here, it's one wrong step and I fall onto a 4 meter high by 5 meter wide opuntia wall

Maybe that's the trick with these guys "oh look, so pretty!" Famous last words :p

Goodness, never fall into a wall of Opuntia!!! 😱🤣

I got a couple pics!

I don't know exactly what this is, there are a couple growing in the yard and this is the first year I've ever seen them, this one is about 12 cm tall...

Well, sometimes they are Very obvious about it, to the point they want to show of their fangs so bad they actually fall over. 😅 But most of the time I ask them if they are friendly by stroking them gently with a straw or a brush. If they don't bite or turn on the straw it's pretty safe to put my hand in there.
Mostly morio worms or roaches for the big ones and small crickets (stinky!) or chopped mealworms for the babies. Now that I've tried wax worms for the birds I might try them for the spoods as well. :)
