Lice? **Pictures**

Our chickens are a year old. We had lice a few months ago, I treated with permethrin and all has seemed to be well. The first time I actually saw the lice, and one of my girls had red, irritated, flaky skin.
This time, while checking our BO, I found this orange stuff at the base of her feathers. Any thoughts what this might be? Their bedding is wood shavings, I don't think that is what it is, but providing some background.

Has anyone else seen this before? Her skin looked pretty healthy to me otherwise.

Could be lice or mites. Now that its dark out go look at the door jam and corners of your coop. You will see mites out at night looking for their next victim.

But I would do a complete clean out and dust the house and chickens in some DE or Sevin Dust.
