LICE!!!

unfortunately I cant get photos but the butt area is redish with some feathers. I haven't seen any pecking but I can see some new feathers comming in. I'm going to make a new dust bathing area with sand DE and wood ash so that they can dust bath a lot more. I am also going to put some DE in their coop and clean everything out of their coop. I hope this can get their problem under control and if not I've started researching the chemicals.

Hopefully that’ll keep them mite/lice free.
 
Lice and mites can kill. I suggest that you get some permethrin spray and/or dust from Tractor Supply:
