Possibly or the other chickens are plucking their butt feathers, which would indicate that they need more protein in their diet.

Doubt it. Can you get some pictures of their butt areas? Also if they are getting too much scratch grains they can get a bit hyper and start pecking each other. They may also be bored.okay so if they are being plucked is this also a sign of lice?

Hopefully that’ll keep them mite/lice free.unfortunately I cant get photos but the butt area is redish with some feathers. I haven't seen any pecking but I can see some new feathers comming in. I'm going to make a new dust bathing area with sand DE and wood ash so that they can dust bath a lot more. I am also going to put some DE in their coop and clean everything out of their coop. I hope this can get their problem under control and if not I've started researching the chemicals.
