Ah. Sorry I didnt realize you were in Australia. Sevin may likely be illegal there so it is a moot point. What you have is great. Dust them really well all over all the way to their skin. Avoid the face and eyes. The dust will only kill the live buy not the eggs so repeat every 7-10 days. I would do it 3 times to be safe. Also clean out the coop. Good luck!!!

should i clean out the roost, nesting boxes change all the straw remove all food and water form run then powder all the hens and put them in a confined area in the run. wait for it all to dry then let them back into the whole run?

If you are sure it's lice you are probably pretty safe to dust the birds and change out the bedding. If it is possible it is mites I would scrub down everything. From what I understand, lice live on birds and mites live in wood/pine/straw/etc and get on birds.

THANKS every one for your great help, it went wonderfully today and didn't even stop my most scared/jumpiest of chicken from laying a lovely egg and everything feels lice free, in a weeks time im going to put more powder on them and in the nests not a whole clean out.
