Lies and Deceit - A Fantasy RP

Raquel breathed out, feeling her racing heart slow. She sat down, warily resheathing her ax. "What do you want?" she grumbled. She looked up protestingly as the sky grumbled back. "Really?" She hastily covered the fire with dirt in a halfhearted attempt to save the coals, then crawled under the tarp she had set up. She looked at the girl. She had plenty of room in her tent... And the girl looked kinda pitiful, just waiting for the rain... "Come in." She grunted, motioning to the spot next to her. "But you better not snore."
Eva replied quickly "I don't." She asked quickly "Have you seen one of the Aves before? Or not yet?"

River glanced back at him. "I guess I said that out-loud, didn`t I?" She sighed and turned back to look out-side. If only I paid more attention... This is my fault. All of it. A breeze wafted in and blew her hair back. She closed her eyes and tilted her head back.
Horius nodded, not responding. The mood was dark enough as it was already. He simply looked upon the dark rock wall, its edges looking back in a solemn stare-off.

River opened her eyes and glanced around outside. The howls of wolves drifted to her ears. She cocked her head, thinking about what they were saying.
"On this full moon, we, The Forest Pack, as always, are strong. Do not trespass on our land. We are large pack of great strength. We will protect our land and our prey. We are like one. We know each other, we are close, we understand each other. This is our home, and our land."
It was the usual, the Forest Pack was, like every full moon, proclaiming their ownership of the land. She loved to study the Forest Pack, they were a peaceful pack, who tolerated her and Trodaire watching them. Though they were not afraid to fight other wolf packs who threatened them. She admired that these beautiful wild animals knew their place, something she envied.
The rain began to beat down harder, and she backed up a few steps, sighing as the rain grew louder and it became harder to hear the wolves.

Horius disappeared deeper into the cave, until there was only darkness around him. He closed his eyes and reflected on the day in the solace of the cave, with no distraction. He admitted as he did each day, he was broken. He spread his wings, stretching them as he returned back to where River was, quietly calm.
