As her breathing got pregnant, Xylo grew somewhat worried. Every bone in his body grew dull with fear that something was wrong. Once she pulled away and revealed the news to him, he didn’t know what to say. It couldn’t be real. How would she take it? Was she joking? Was he ready to be a father? He responded after almost a minute of contemplation, “Are you happy?” His heart was overjoyed, glad to have a child and begin a family, like the one that had been ripped from him as a child.

River smiled at him. "Of course I am. But..." She paused, watching him. She loved this man, and now she would be a mother soon, and he would be a father soon. Aves were different from Humans, their pregnancies only lasted five months.
