He stuttered for a second, before stating confidently with a hint of humor "I don't know who you are, but you're definitely staying." He thought of River, and asked "Could you heal her bones too or would that make you too weak?"
She picked her way over to River and crouched by her side. In a hushed tone, she repeated the same phrase. River's skin glowed and shimmered where her injuries were, and the bones pulled themselves back together, the bruising fading until gone.
Looking at River, she said, "You should be able to stand now, just -" there was a sudden crash as hail shattered the window on the other side of the room.
