Lies and Deceit - A Fantasy RP

Eva knew Persepolis most likely didn't trust her all that well still, so she simply began explaining "This is Brid, an Aves from the old mansion. Do you remember her at all?" Eva had no fear in this Aves, she had her gun holstered and was ready to do what she had to if Bird tried something. But while she had been a hunter, she had seen Brid at the mansion, so that part of her story was true at least.
Persepolis glanced at Brid, slowly looking her over, assessing her. Persepolis knew who she was. She knew the faces of everyone who lived at the mansion, something she had picked up as a kid when she hid a lot. She hadn't known her name, though. She only knew some mansion Aves names when it benifited her directly.
Persepolis nodded, indicating she recognized her. She answered blankly, "I recognize the face. Didn't know her name though." She caught Brid's eye, "Welcome Brid."

Eva nodded, somewhat disappointed they hadn't known each other. Would've been nice to have some confirmation that people here had recognized her immediately. She then glanced around the common area, wanting to spy Xylo or River somewhere. When she didn't, she questioned Persepolis simply, "Hey, do you know where River or Xylo are? I suppose we should let them decide if she can stay, which I don't think should be that much of a problem."

Persepolis shrugged, shaking her head, "Beats me. They're probably out in the woods. I'd imagine they'd be back soon since it's late." She glanced around, giving a cursory look herself for their co-leaders. As she figured, she didn't see them. She turned to Brid and asked with some sincerity, "Are you hungry? Or hurt in any way?" She added, "My friend and I just got a deer today. There's meat to go around. And I'm our healer. If you get hurt, I'm the person you talk to."

Persepolis rounded the cabin, spotting Eva and someone she didn't recognize. She froze, slowly inching her hand to the weapon belt she wore in case there was trouble ahead.
She watched, waiting to see if they'd notice her.
Eva waved Persepolis over, hoping she knew where either Xylo or River were.

Brid heard the stranger's heart speed up. "Hi, I'm Brid," she said, hoping to diffuse some of the tension. "What's your name?"

"I like yours too," Brid replied awkwardly. "Um, how did you recognize me? We haven't met, have we?" She straightened, opening her wings ever so slightly in what she hoped wasn't a challenging stance, but one that would keep her from seeming too submissive.

Persepolis ruffled her wings but didn't spread them. It was a sign that she was alert and recognized Brid's intentions of her movement. She answered, choosing her words carefully, "I know the faces of everyone who lives at the mansion. I only the names of a few. So, no, we've never but I've seen you around." She waited for a response. Her heartbeat was normal but her stance was still on guard.
