Lies and Deceit - A Fantasy RP

"I actually think that you are a pretty good person," Persepolis told her. "I think we all have a dark past. We all had to have at least some hardship to be here right now. But I understand your need to work with yourself first before you work with others. That is something that any strong person like you should do."
She gave her a warm smile.
Luna smiled back. A rare sign of affection or enjoyment from her.
She thanked, sincerity blatant in her voice "Thank you Persepolis. That means a lot to me. From what I've seen, you're a good person. Thank you for making those beds." Luna looked upon her no longer as a stranger, but more of as a friend. Perhaps the beginning of a friendship, something that she hadn't enjoyed since she was six. But it always seemed she ruined the possible friends she could've had. Maybe it was best to stay away from Persepolis, for her sake...

River followed his gaze. "I don`t know, I think your going to become leader. There`s lots of people talking about you too. Besides, if I was them, I wouldn`t vote for me." She shrugged.
Xylo shook his head, retorting "You're smart, calm, and collected. And you get things moving. Sounds like a leader to me." Seeing that Horius had gotten up and was walking to the woods most likely to hunt or train, added, knowing well he could hear him, "I'm voting for Horius, so that can go to war and murder everyone else."

Horius kept walking into the woods, ignoring what he said, but called back "And we'll hide all day in some cabin if you're leader.", which was somewhat a joke but held some truth in it.

"Thanks." River said quietly, then added even quieter. "I don`t trust Horius. I have no qualm about killing, if there is a reason. But that man... He`s just wrong."

Xylo defended him silently "You don't know his past. He's messed up in what he believes in, but his past is darker than anyone I've ever known." He explained "That's not an excuse for what he does. But it at least explains it." Xylo looked as Horius entered the woods, wielding no weapons, meaning he was most likely going to train, which was an assurance.

"Yeah, I don`t know his past, but whatever it is, it`s no reason to kill people for no reason. If we all did that, we`d be no better than the humans." River whispered. Then looked Xylo in the eye. "All the people here have bad pasts, most of which you don`t know." Her body tensed. "Last I checked you don`t know Luna`s past, you don`t know all of mine, and you don`t know all of the others. You know why we don`t talk about them? They`er bad pasts. That`s why. We all have secrets, but what I know of that man, I have no reason to trust him." She whispered.

Xylo responded quietly, not trying to get attention brought to them when they didn't need it. He had seen one of Horius' rages, miles away from anyone. Horius talked to his mother, using language that could only be described as respectful, loving, and caring. He yearned so much to just see her, to know that she could see him, strong and powerful, string enough to have save her years ago, hoping she would respond. For hours. Hours o silence. When she didn't, he either broke down in tears, or set out to murder the hunters, seeing his father slowly killing his mother just because she had been transformed to an Aves, against her will, in each and every human with no wings. His tugs and pulls on his father's shirt, before being thrown against the wall. Having to realize he couldn't save her, then running away, screams echoing in his head for an eternity. Xylo muttered "They took everything from him. We killed that hunter who had killed your friends. Why'd we do that, then?" Xylo looked at her with questioning eyes.

"Why did we do that? Because if we didn`t, he would have came back, brought the rest of the hunters, and killed everyone." River answered quietly.
Her own past began to whirl up from the depths of her mind. Those two hunters dead. At her feet. Her whirling around and shooting. The gun shot. The scream. Then Lucas coming from the shadows with utter horror on his face at what she had done...
"You act like you trust everyone here. That`s were we part. Because I don`t trust anyone here. Not even myself." She added in a whisper.

Xylo responded "I don't trust anyone. I only try to understand them, that's all." With that, Xylo studied her facial expressions: she was thinking. And he read her. She had done something horrible. She expected to never be forgiven, but that would get her nowhere. She seemed to drown herself in her own problems. A ship that was almost doomed to sink, unless she received someone to help he drain the water out.

"I was just trying to make sure everyone could sleep at least slightly comfortably," Persepolis said, referring to the beds.
"I want to thank you for talking to me, it means a lot to me to have someone to talk to." Her appreciation was clear in her voice.

River opened her mouth to say something but shut it. Lucas walked by them, then noticed River`s look. He knew what she was thinking about, it put a pit in his stomach, he couldn`t imagine what it must do to her. "How are you?" He asked quietly. "I`m fine." River said coolly. Lucas gave her an unbelieving look. "Okay. I`m going hunting, mind if I take Trodaire? That wolf can be useful."
"Sure." River replied. Glad for a distraction. Lucas turned and walked away. "Come on." He called Trodaire, who followed him.
She turned back to Xylo, thinking on what she would say.
