Horius disappeared deeper into the cave, until there was only darkness around him. He closed his eyes and reflected on the day in the solace of the cave, with no distraction. He admitted as he did each day, he was broken. He spread his wings, stretching them as he returned back to where River was, quietly calm.
River backed up a few more steps, not noticing him, and nearly fell into him. She spun around, reaching for her sword, then realized it was just him. She straightened back up and removed her head from her sword. "Sorry, Horius. I didn`t see you there. I was listening to the wolves..." Her voice drifted off, embarrassed that she had nearly fell into him.

Horius looked at her with a neutral look, which turned into one of compassion. He asked her softly "Are you afraid River? Frustrated? Mad? I'm sure you are, and if you want to talk I'm here." he paused, before continuing with a hint of hesitation "I'm aware your parents aren't around."

River studied him. "Of coarse I`m frustrated. My friends were banished because of something they didn`t do, when it was my fault that I wasn`t paying attention." She whispered. Then her brow furrowed. "Who told you about my parents?"

Horius responded simply "You've never been around them. I put two and two together...if I'm wrong I'm sorry, and if I'm right I'm even sorrier. I lost mine a long time ago." Horius looked at the floor, before moving his gaze to her again.

"You guessed right. My father is dead and my mother might as well be." River said softly. "I`m sorry about your parents too."
