Lies and Deceit - A Fantasy RP

Eva listened attentively, mentally taking down everything she said, jotting it down on invisible paper. Once Persepolis had finished talking, she asked another question. She asked quietly "Do you know of an Aves with long dark brown hair (PS it's Horius)? He seems to be killing off hordes of humans in the area, and wanted to see if you knew him.", knowing whatever answer she got would most likely be a lie to mask his identity, but it was worth a try.
Persepolis looked at Luna, a look of concern on her face that only Luna saw.
Her heart was racing, but her voice was calm, non-commital.
"I know of him." Was all she said, not clarifying if she knew his name or not, or if she ever really saw him.
"I'm sorry that he's killing so many people." She meant it. She was appalled by Horius' behavior.

Eva nodded grimly. She was scared of Horius. All the rumors that went around the camps and towns. She shivered slightly, as if a breeze had passed by or something. With a hushed whisper, she asked somberly “Why does he do it?”

Luna looked at the floor in disgust at Horius’ actions, but didn’t speak a word, contemplating whether she should speak up or not. She wanted to feel sorry for Horius, she knew he had a ruined past. But he never showed emotion, not once.

"I wish I knew why he did it" Persepolis answered. "But I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you. If it's any solace to you, I will tell you that I don't approve of his actions. Most of us don't think like he does."
Persepolis stopped talking, leaving the conversation open for someone else to get a word in.

Casimir cursed silently under his breath as he stood from a crouch. He looked around the dense trees at the base of the mountains, the Aves he had been tracking all day disappeared. He had heard of those who could go invisible and he wondered if that was the case with this one. He held up his crossbow and looked around for something to salvage the day with. He noticed a ways away signs of something, someone having moved through the area. He headed over and followed the trail into the mountain pass. Most avoided the mountains because it was difficult to travel and stay hidden amongst the deep snow that always seemed to have the mountain locked down. But he was not most hunters, and he was determined to salvage the days hunt with something.

Luna chimes in suddenly, confidence regained. She stared them both down, asking with a cold face “Do you promise not to tell anyone else you saw us? Because if you do....”

Eva averted her attention to the other Ave’s attention. With somewhat of a nervous voice, she promised “I promise I won’t tell anyone we’ve seen you at all.” After that, the silence between the four was all that could be heard, waiting for someone else to chime in.

Sierra slowly floated around the base of the mountain, using soft, repeated beats of her wings to keep her afloat. The snow around her glistened like jewels on a diadem. As she hovered past, the snow moved beneath her feet, then piled back on top of each other as normal afterwards, leaving no trace of her being there. With a sigh, she headed for the forest, looking around for some of the blackberry patches when she saw someone approaching her, and froze. She had no clue whether she was staring down friend or foe. As he approached, she quickly realized it was a hunter, and crouched low, sneaking away as best she could, given cover by the snow- covered plantlife which blended in with her white clothes and hair.

"Good," Persepolis replied. "And in return, we won't tell our friends that we saw you." Implying that they could be in danger if the others knew.
"With that, are there any more questions? Or are we done here?" She inquired.
She wouldn't admit it, but she was hoping they were wrapping up their interview. She wasn't too sure of herself that she wouldn't give too much away if they kept talking. Plus, humans didn't interest her that much. She had bigger things on her mind, like making food.

He stopped as the snow got deeper and looked around curiously. The snow was too perfect, too pristine, and the trace he had been following had again disappeared. He stood and slid his crossbow onto his back and looked around. Using the rest of his senses in the still forest to pick up anything out of place.

Seeing, the human observing the area, Sierra stayed put, hoping his eye, which hadn’t caught her before, wouldn’t do the same now. Every time he looked away, she crept father and farther away from him, moving the snow using magic so no footsteps showed whatsoever, masking her path.

Eva could sense she wanted to leave, and nodded quickly, motioning to Raquel they should probably leave. After a wave and a kind smile, she left the two in solitude, the two of them disappearing into the woods.

Luna sighed as they left “That was stressful. And Horius is going to get us killed, mark my words.”
