Luna smiled, trying to light the mood. She asked simply, continuing their question and answer series “What’s your favorite eye and hair color?”
"Brown hair & blue eyes." Alec said sadly. He cleared his throat. "What about you?"

Persepolis returned his embrace, leaning into him. She whispered back, "It's not your fault what happened to me. And you weren't ever involved in any of it." She added, a small note of heartbreak roughly healed in her voice, "Don't worry about my family. They're dead to me now. Besides, I guess I can thank them for forcing me to become who I am." She relaxed in his arms, taking refuge in him. She finally felt she had someone who would actually care about her.
Hector did care about her, and displayed this with his hug. She meant so much for him, she was a confidence boost, comfort in the sorrow of the world that crashed down around them, assurance that someone cared about him as well. Hector reassured her gently “Well, just so that you know, I love the person that you are. Inside and out. So perhaps I too should be greateful, that that resulted in the Persepolis that I know today.” With a shy smile, Hector added “By the way, your name is beautiful. I don’t know who picked it or what the story behind it is but...”Persepolis returned his embrace, leaning into him. She whispered back, "It's not your fault what happened to me. Luna nodded, offering the same answer. She asked gently “Why did you become sad all of a sudden? Did I do something?” He was certainly hiding a very intricate past."Brown hair & blue eyes." Alec said sadly. He cleared his throat. "What about you?"
Persepolis smiled, responding first, "Thank you. It means a lot to me that you love me for who I am." When he mentioned her name she blushed and answered, "Thanks. Actually, I picked it. I was never given a name by my parents. It was their way of not getting attached to their kids in case one died. Like how I was supposed to." She paused, realizing that she had said that last piece with bitter hatred in her voice. Regaining her composure, she added simply, "I chose it when I was 13, 7 years after they abandoned me. I waited so long because I didn't want to name myself until I fully understand my name."Hector did care about her, and displayed this with his hug. River followed him, spreading her beautiful brown wings and took flight, making sure to stay right behind him.Xylo came to the edge of a cliff, where he spread his wings and took flight, waiting to see that she followed before they went to the opposite side, landing in a cave that jutted out of the cliff wall; it was a rather peculiar formation, somewhat like a nose to the cliff wall. With a sigh, he took a seat on the edge of the entrance, looking up at the sun which had begun setting. They had made it just in time. He looked over to her, whispering "Wait. You'll see how beautiful it is in a few moments."
Xylo smiled as she shivered, stretching out one of his wings to draw her closer, warming her with his body temperature. He turned to her to pass the time until the sun set, asking gently “Do you ever wonder what life would be like if we were never Aves? Had never met each other?” Xylo recognized his question could be annoying if she didn’t reflect a lot as he did, but asked nonetheless.River followed him, spreading her beautiful brown wings and took flight, making sure to stay right behind him.
As she landed, she tucked her wings up against her back once again, then turned and sat down close beside of Xylo, peering up to watch the sun-set. A chill breeze blew, and she shivered.
Luna nodded somberly, affected by the mention of his mother. It must hurt to have your mother taken away from you when she did care for you. Luna hesitated, before scooting over and giving him a one second hug, not wanting it to be too long in case he didn’t want a hug, which she assumed to be the case."No, it wasn't you. My mom had blue eyes & brown hair. She... died... a few years back." Alec said, looking at the ground.
Hector was taken aback a little by her clear bitterness, not knowing what to do. Let her express her bitterness, which all in all she deserved to given her past, or try to calm it? He quickly decided to let her express herself, letting Persepolis finish her story completely, not sure what to do afterwards. He simply continued walking with her, letting the silence overtake them. The sky darkened slowly, and as a result, Hector asked curiously “Night or day? Which do you prefer?”Persepolis smiled, responding first, "Thank you. It means a lot to me that you love me for who I am." When he mentioned her name she blushed and answered, "Thanks. Actually, I picked it. I was never given a name by my parents.
