Lies and Deceit - A Fantasy RP

Hector was taken aback a little by her clear bitterness, not knowing what to do. Let her express her bitterness, which all in all she deserved to given her past, or try to calm it? He quickly decided to let her express herself, letting Persepolis finish her story completely, not sure what to do afterwards. He simply continued walking with her, letting the silence overtake them. The sky darkened slowly, and as a result, Hector asked curiously “Night or day? Which do you prefer?”
Persepolis walked with him, inwardly cursing herself for being so bitter around him. She shouldn't have done that. As the sky darkened, Persepolis slowed her walk, carefully picking her way through the forest as her visibility slightly declined. She listened to his question and took a moment to answer. Finally, she answered. "I'm not like most Aves, in that sense. I prefer day instead of night. Mostly because I can't really see when it's dark as I'm not a bird of the night." There was more to her reasoning that she didn't add. Persepolis asked, "What about you?"

Xylo smiled as she shivered, stretching out one of his wings to draw her closer, warming her with his body temperature. He turned to her to pass the time until the sun set, asking gently “Do you ever wonder what life would be like if we were never Aves? Had never met each other?” Xylo recognized his question could be annoying if she didn’t reflect a lot as he did, but asked nonetheless.
River sighed contently as he brought her closer, then looked up at him as he asked the question. She nodded. "Yes, I have." She paused. "My father... He wasn't born a Aves, he was born a Human, and changed himself into a Aves. I have wondered what it would have been like if I had been born a Human."

Alec's eyes widened & he stiffened when she hugged him, but relaxed when he realized it was just a hug & not some kind of attack. He move a few inches closer to her, & watched her out of the corner of his eye, wondering what her reaction would be.
Luna noticed him scooting a bit closer, which resulted in a gentle smile. He was warming up to her, she thought, and she appreciated that. Without a word, Luna dared to moved a little closer to him as well, to the point where they were right next to each other. She looked up at him timidly, hoping that he was fine with it, that he wouldnt push her away.

Xylo looked to her with genuine interest in her response, making sure to keep her close so she maintained her warmth. Xylo nodded, responding thoughtfully Perhaps life would be easier, with no one out to hunt you. More options to live life.” He paused, before adding “But then i wouldve never found you. And without you...life would seem so much emptier.”

Alec sat there as she scooted closer, not moving. He was starting to warm up to her, but it would still take a while for him to trust her. He smiled at her, & looked into the forest. He wanted to say something, but he didn't want to ruin the silence that seemed to surround the forest. "what was the best or worst thing that has happened to you?" Alec asked after a few minutes, wanting to get to know her more. "That is, if you don't mind me asking." He turned to look at her.

Hector responded “I really have no preference to be completely honest.” His eyes drifted to the darkening world around them, the plague of darkness slowly taking over. The stars and moon eventually became their only light source, beaming don upon the earth to give it whatever light it had to give. After a little while, Hector turned around, asking Persepolis gently, wanting to hear her opinion “Want to go back now before it gets too dark to see anymore?”

Luna pondered the question, wondering what the answer was. After a while she decided to answer “The answer to both is probably being an orphan. It made me a colder person and was emotionally destructive, but it also made me tougher and more self-reliant.” She paused, content with her answer, before questioning in return “What about you. If you want to tell?” She gazed into the last few embers of the fire, not wanting to pressure him with her looking at him all the time.

Persepolis nodded and answered quietly, "Yeah, I think we should go back now." She turned back in the direction of the cabin and started walking back with Hector. As she walked, she buttoned her trench coat up all the way to stay a little warmer. She hadn't walked more than ten steps when the toe of her boot hit a hidden tree stump. She stumbled forward, falling onto her hands in the leaf debris of the forest. She sighed with a small laugh, "See? I can't see well in the dark."

"For the best thing that has happened to me, going into the forest. For the worst thing, pretty much everything, but mainly when I was sixteen." Alec said, looking around.

Hector quickly helped her up, making sure she hadn’t suffered any apparent cuts or serious wounds. He gave her a small smile, responding “Well hold my hand the rest of the way so that you don’t fall down anymore.” He wanted to be there for her, even in small things like not being able to see in the dark. The rest of the walk home was slow, where Hector guided her gently and lovingly, making sure she didn’t fall again. He did this all out of a genuine care and prevailing love for her, that brought out the confidence within him, however little it was.
