She liked to be in human form if she was comfortable and felt safe but she liked to be in wolf form if she was nervous and felt unsafe "I would like to sleep in human form if that's okay?" She asks a bit nervously, she didn't fully understand why she felt safe enough to but she would just accept that she did.

He tells her rather nonchalantly for the strange situation
