Light Brahma confused about gender? 9 weeks old

Iris looks like a rooster to me. Time will tell for sure. I agree about the dark brahma/light brahma mix. I have 2 dark brahma girls and my girls have the same feather pattern as your chickens but yours are a lot lighter. They are beautiful birds though! I am still in shock on how pretty they are!

I am starting to question Iris myself now too- figures Iris is my friendliest chicken and the one I feel most bonded with.

I noticed on her comb that she has 3 rows of 'bumps' I thought I read somewhere that was a sign of a roo? Does anyone know if that is true??

It depends on how old they are. All pea combed birds have 3 rows, but the females' aren't as pronouced, and the males get theirs way sooner (my 4 EE cockerels had huge 3 rowed combs at 4 weeks). My EE Penelope is getting her second and third rows - she's almost 4 months.

I didnt read the whole thread, but your light brahmas dont look like mine either! lol Mine have alot of white, and dark on top. My boy was crowing at 9wks, and had a much redder comb than the others. I realize I am not much help, sorry! lol But your birds are super pretty!!

But they are still so pretty and super friendly! I'll have to get some from a breeder some day as I love the way LB look.
