Hi. I have 2 out of 3.....4 month old birds walking around almost like they are drunk. they are wobbly,uncoordinated and just plain messed up. I have isolated the 3 and put them on amprosol thinking it maybe coccidiosis. I have only had problems with coccidiosis in very young (less than a week old) chicksso i am not sure if this will help.

Any ideas would be helpful?

I just came home and found the roo dead. One pullet seems to be getting worse and the other one is like get me away from here. When the pullet walks she take a step with the left and a hard stomp with her right.

If you had one die, can you send it in for necropsy? Casportpony has a very helpful thread about how to get a necropsy on a bird to determine cause of death.

I had a few die from something like this the past winter. They seemed disoriented and got worse and worse.
What are you feeding? Any scraps?
This is all just speculation from what happened to mine, and yours might be completely different. I suspected part of my issue was that my scraps bucket had a little mold on the bottom and something from that was making them sick. (I didn't see it at the time, only noticed it much afterwards) Feed or grain can also get moldy- so if possible, change out and sanitize all the feeders and waterers, and take a good look at their feed. If it seems damp or moldy at all, throw it out.

Hi. There is place near me to have the dead bird examined that I know of. They have not been fed anything but their own feed, which has no mold and is good quality. I am trying to get in touch with the lady we got them from as chicks to see if she has had any problems with her birds. I am puzzled because they were brooder raised, put in their own pen when big enough and now this. I suspect the pullet will die as well, hopefully the last one will be ok.....Wheatens are hard to come by here.

New symptom.....she is trying to peck her food but she is coming up short by a few inches......I have no idea what is going on but I think she is slowly starving to death.

Do you have any Poly-Vis-Ol vitamin liquid you can give her? It comes in a dropper,- if you can, drip some into her beak.

Sounds neurological. Or possibly they ingested a toxin? Do you have any food grade charcoal powder? Activated charcoal, not like the kind in your grill. I'd mix just a tiny bit with water and dose them that. Then give supportive care keeping them hydrated with a vit/electrolyte water and tasty treats to get them to eat. Keep them isolated.

Even if it is neurological/disease related they may pull through, but will need supportive care by tube feeding and watering for the duration. Some vitamin deficiencies can cause symptoms like that also from what I have read.
