Our little Bantum rooster didn't meet us this morning. It got pretty cold last night here in Florida(colder than predicted) 40's we found him in the coop sitting upright but looked dead but when we touched him he fell over and was still breathing but cold. Trying to warm him up now. There are no marks in him. He has loose poop on his butt kinda light colored. All the other chickens are running around like normal. He usually sleeps alone in the barn and is free range during the day. Food is brand new (not moldy). Any ideas? Please help he's the official greeter of our lil farm

Welcome to BYC. How old is he? Hopefully, he is just having problems with the changing weather. I would bring him inside in a crate or basket where you can watch him closely. Offer him a small cup of water with electrolytes and viatmins, such as SaveAChick or add a tsp of sugar to a quart of water, and use that. Dip his beak for a second, over and over, getting some fluids into him. Offer him some chopped egg or canned tuna, or wet chick feed, whatever he will take. Probiotic plain yogurt, about a tsp in his food may help his diarrhea. Clean that off when he is acting more stable. If he is very young cocci could be a problem. Feel of his crop to see if it is empty or full. Check him over for mites and lice. Let us know how he is doing.
