lime on the floor

I have a wooden floor. I cleaned it out last night and it's real damp.
Will it hurt the birds to put lime down and then some straw?
I have it all opened up to try to dry it out.

I just learned that you have to use Ag Lime, like Stall Dry (I think the stuff I got was called Sweet Lime for Dairy Barns) and then its ok but the regular stuff isnt animal safe.

Ag lime for sure. Not a bad idea to mix a little diatomaceous earth with it. Do not put anything down until floor is completely dry if it is a wooden floor. Could be a good time to put down linoleum. Just shut the chooks out all day and put a couple of nests out in their run? Straw holds moisture. Hay or grass clippings are better.
