Limping Duck, 8 months old

Which puts me in a conflict: My Magpie Ducks don't look like Magpie ducks, they look exactly like Shetland Ducks, a rare and almost extinct breed:
If i could get my hand on a Shetland Drake, i would be able to help this breed to survive…
On the other hand a bad breeding stock is bad for the breed…
:barnie:he:th

Magnolia Ducks and I may not have to worry about going to the hatchery. My parents neighbor is doing a 4H project for the County fair. He wants a couple dozen eggs to hatch during the fair and we can get the ducklings back. I said I want them back if you find someone to vent sex them so we get mostly hens. He said he would find homes for the others.

Remember, you may have to eat all those yummy eggs!
And your doctor will yell at you after seeing your bloodwork! :gig

She really enjoyed her bath very, very, very much! She was surrounded by most of her flock-mates who tried to drink out the bathtub. Peas weren't the big hit - no idea why.
While she was bathing, i observed that she was moving her leg almost normal in the water, but when she tried to scratch her head, she could not get her foot out of the water and squeaked every time she tried.
And yes, »Erpelchen« started that head-bobbing game again, but one look of me and he walked away - boy i must have looked at him as if i would swallow him whole! In the afternoon he had started a fight with Limpy and in the end i grabbed him and pinned him to the ground for five (5!) minutes, ranting at him. :rant
Maggie is still not able to walk, so tomorrow will be another hospital day for her. She hates it! But resting will help her, i hope. :fl
Funny how they can be so particular about some foods. Our ducks love peas but tried to give them mealworms and they wouldn't touch them. Scrambled eggs have been a hit though.
That's good she's using her leg while she's swimming :) We've been doing warm baths twice a day and our girl seems to really like floating around and she can clean up a bit.
Not sure if it's needed for your girl but we picked up childrens ibuprofen for pain. I keep seeing contradicting information online between giving ibuprofin or aspirin but this is what I'm going with

Hope your drake is behaving himself, they can be such troublemakers! :)
I'm sure she is enjoying all the special attention :)

Last time I sent in those poop samples they wanted, I was brooding ducklings................You do not know how tempting is was..................
