Alright I have read every limping post in the thread but still have some questions on best approach.

My runner has been limping about four days. I've been isolating her with a friend but she still favors one leg. I don't see any bumblefoot issues. Posted a pic of the foot just in case. She's currently soaking in a warm bathtub of water. I'd like to treat her and possibly give her pain relief to see if it helps.

Should I:
Give vitamin b complex
Give disintegrated Motrin or advil
Give a dosage of carprofen - my dog is on it and I could break it down into 8ths, dissolve and feed.

Any help is appreciated.

That black dot on the swelling looks suspiciously like bumblefoot to me...
Okay I thought bumblefoot always had the black scab, so i'm mistaken. Think I should try to wrap her and treat at home with veticyn or take to a vet?

It should easily be taken care of at home. I've never had to do it yet (knock on wood) but soaking in warm water with epsom salts (without allowing the duck to drink said water) for about 20 minutes, pulling off the scab, tiny as it may be, and draining out the stuff inside, then applying some classic Neosporin without pain relief. Some also use epsom salt compresses that can be gotten at feed stores, etc. They are meant for horses but work on ducks.

I was wondering since the scab is so small if I could avoid cutting it to not risk infection.. I have seen through research that lots of people bandage with drawing salve?

The black should be ok but if you’re comfortable with this you can give the recommend dosage of penicillin. Hope this helps

I will have salve by tomorrow. I already sprayed her with vetercyn and put on gauze with antibiotic ointment
