Limping pekin

Well 1st know that their infection doesn’t just draw out. It’s more like a cottage cheese consistency. If you make a small cut, you would have to more then likely squeeze it like a pimple, which will be extremely painful for them. If you do draw out fluid, like clear fluid, it would probably be joint fluid. Once you cut and remove some of the infection please know that she will bleed a lot. Pack it good with neosporine and wrap it good. You are going to want to make the bleeding stop so wrap it tight but not too tight that it cuts off circulation to the area and let it be for a good 24 hours. Following that you are going to want to soak it every day for weeks to come. Wrapping it after each soak.
I am not trying to scare you I just want you to know what can happen. Just make sure you have everything laid out and ready to use. You will need vet wrap and good premium cotton balls.
She said it would be thick like a ganglyer cyst and I have packing strips of it comes to that. She said from the looks of it the infection from the bumble foot had gone into the top of her foot. I have plenty of co band to wrap her and some liquid band aid. I'll have sterile gauze and blade. She did say that this will help with bleeding and pain. I could get some oral gel to help with her pain as will. Im definitely scare, I've done plenty of boils on humans but not on something I love so dearly. I have lidocaine to num her foot if you think that would help? What else do you think? Does this product work that I've took a pic of?

I wouldn’t use oral gel. Those strips in the pic are something I have never seen but my vet did use lidocaine on my ducks foot. But mine had mycoplasma in the joint. I take it your comfortable doing this but just don’t cut too deep. I would prefer a vet to this but I understand that’s not always something that can be done. When you do this your going to want to have her on an antibiotic. Do you have this on hand?

Where do you get that stuff?

Here are some pictures I have when wrapping my ducks feet. I used sports tape, vet wrap. They like to have their feet open and not completely wrapped. Mine was on the ankle though which makes it easier to wrap. Pic with out wrap is just to show show how small the cut was. View attachment 1672802View attachment 1672803View attachment 1672804

This is great, I'll get some of the antibiotic from chew.com first and wait till I have all my found together first. I guess I'll need at least an 18g needle to try and aspirate and infection because of it being so thick... what did you use to help with her pain
