also @Isaac 0 in addition to the above, I did squeeze the little hard lump on the toe, it is rock hard but wasn't willing to come off easily, the other black spots I could kind of pick at and get a bit of crusty stuff off

This is what I’m wondering about, do I want it to “dry out” or should I be allowing it to stay “immersed” as it were in ointment.Looks good...not sure how the plastic will work out. We use Vet wrap and it works really well. Of course the foot doesn’t necessarily stay dry but it stays on and keeps the wound clean.
I would continue keeping it clean. They say you can cut down on the soaking to every other day so the scabs dry up. Hope she is doing better!

Every time time we wrapped our ducks foot, we put antibiotic ointment on. It eventually dried out. We soaked for 3 days roughly and then switched to every other day soak but fresh clean bandage ointment everyday.This is what I’m wondering about, do I want it to “dry out” or should I be allowing it to stay “immersed” as it were in ointment.
