i have a rooster who is limping. The limping foot is reddened so I assume it is Bumblefoot but I do not see a black or dark cut or scrape. I’ve been watching the leg for a couple of days and applied neosporin with no change. Any tips or ideas?

Not the best photos. Everyone else at school and work so I was trying to hold him and my camera and shoot leg is not warm to touch and I do not notice any holes or pictures or scabs. Any ideas?

I don't see anything obvious. The redness is likely hormonal and normal. I would treat it like a sprain/strain and give it some time to see if it resolves. You can soak the foot in epsom salts for about 20 minutes once or twice a day (whatever time allows) and that may help with pain and swelling. Minor sprains and strains are not uncommon, especially in heavier birds. Making sure roosts aren't too high can help with preventing injury, but sometimes things happen. Hopefully time is all it needs.

Thanks! I know he is still trying to keep up with the flock but he also isn’t trying to attack me when I let the out for the day. So I guess that a bonus? Lol
