agree with suggestions above including antibiotics...usually baytril is chosen from avian vets to use in these cases of possible peritonitis from broken egg. (you will need a vet unless you have another source for it)

Liquid Baytril can be ordered from allbirdproducts.com w/o Rx, used for parrots etc. It is about $25 for 25mls. if their is no vet near you that will issue it for chickens.

A lot of places arent selling Enrofloxacin (Baytril) any longer but they do sell Enroxil which is basically the same thing. You might be able to find it on some pigeon supply website as well.
