Litter for the Chicks in brooder? Can I use Cedar

You shouldn't ever use cedar for any small animal. It causes respiratory problems. It is also not really a very economical choice. Head to your local farm supply store and they should sell a BIG bag of pine shavings that don't cost very much. Most of the time they are found outside the store. They are here anyways!

when I got mine (white shavings, no cedar, as they were out of pine) the owner told me that they were packed wet so I needed to let them dry out before I put them in the brooder.
