Little Dorkus is now4 weeks old, he is a BRxSLW cross hatched out under a BA hen. This particular hen has been a bit absent, so we call him our wayward child that has been snuggling up under my SS that also has 2 chicks that are 4 weeks. We started calling him Dorkus because he is a crazy little runt that runs around with the teen chicks cheeping his head off most of the day. But he is a survivor. Lately he has taken to snuggling up under the rooster on the coop roost at night. I wanted to get a picture tonight, but by the time I got back to the coop with the camera he was back over to his surrogate mother trying to cozy up in her breast feathers.

awww, sounds so cute... You should try to get a pic again I would LOVE to see it !!

Sounds adorable! Love the name....lol

I'll try again for pictures tonight. I couldn't believe the first time I saw him sidle up next to the Roo and give him a peck. I thought for sure the Roo would peck him back, but instead he stood up, Dorkus moved under him and he sat back down again. We laughed, thinking it was a one time thing, but I've found him sitting under the roo several times now when I go in to count them at night.

Tonight when I did a head count Lil' Dorkus was under mama...but that may just be because Daddy roo was sitting right beside her. Here's a couple pics.
Dorkus under ma with Bret the roo snuggling just to the left

A close up of Dorkus (you can see the hens in the back row peeking to try to see what the heck I was doing)
