Are you using the glass thermometer or just digital ?

Are they just dying off or just all duds ?

I am sorry you have to go through this.....

I am not running the AC yet, we have had crazy temps from 90 and back down to 34 degrees and back up to 80 degrees today.

The digital thermometer which all have been calibrated show when my room goes up the incubator goes up to 102. in the LG Incubator with no fan, but the glass thermometer says 100 and stays there.

The one ( LG Incubator ) with the fan shows dead on 99.5 for glass thermometer but the digital one shows 101.3

I am relying on my glass aquarium thermometer more it has proven to be more accurate for me.

It is from bacteria in the incubator. We are borrowing it, it has been stored and never cleaned. I cleaned it the best I could when we got it.

I am not buying any more thremometers. I already have 5 (Almost $40 worth). I have my new Brinsea coming Tuesday of next week and I am putting my eggs in there. No more guessing. No more stressing. My life has come to a hault for the past 7 days. I cannot baby sit my LG any more. I know some of you have great results but I am not. I live in a very old historic stone house and I have no central air or heating. Just a wood stove and I only use that when its freezing out. So there isnt a single room in my home that has a steady temp and there is absolutely nothing I can do about it. I have tried everything in my power to make this LG still air work but last night I was up until 7:30 this morning watching temps. They had stayed at 100.6 for many hours so I went to sleep and woke up with 103.5. I will be lucky if my eggs are not completely ruined by the POS lG. They were likely at that temp for about 3 hours and I have been watching closely all day. Also, I am aready doing a dry incubation :)

Sorry that this is not working out for you with the LG

hope the other one works out.

I couldn't remember if you have a fan or not, but that is what help me so much. Just a small PC fan jerry rigged to the top of the bator. There is not a room in our old house that stays at a constant temp either, our dining room is probably the coldest at around 65* to 70* or so and that is where our bator lives.

Again, hope you have better luck with the other bator.

Thanks so much. Our bedroom which is in the "Attic" I guess you would say is where mine lives for two reasons. Its the one room where the temp is pretty steady because downstairs it gets sooooo cold at night and its drafty. Second, I need to babysite the LG at night. I originally had it on my spare baedroom where my baby chicks are, but couldnt sit down there all night to adjust the fluxuating temps. I am trying to decide if I should beep this LG for when I have large batches of eggs since my Brinsea only hols 24? Or if I should keep it as a brooder for the new born chicks. Where can I buy a PC fan? Like Walmart?

If I were you I would keep it for a brooder, should be good enough for that I would think. I learned to not mess with the 'stick' (themostat) even if the heat got too high, I would just take out the plugs, one or both.

I bought my PC fan at Radio shack, not sure if Wal-Mart carries them, they might I never even thought about looking there. I am sure that you could get it at Office Max, Staples or Best Buy also, maybe a little cheaper than what I got mine for.

I just called radio shack ad they said they have a 3 inch one for $17.99. How do you about installing it? I have read something about using a old cell phone charger but I'm not sure if we have one. Husband is looking rght now. Do you have alink for instructions?
