I'm going to do the same as mommysongbird. I won't have a full bator, so I am going to lay it on the rack. I have it there now as I am trying to get mine regulated. I don't think I will be setting my eggs today!

If only we didn't have to go to work!!!

Im getting so anxious lol. This mourning at 8 am marked the beginning of day 19. What is the earliest that anyone has had one hatch? Got home from work today and have literally looked in once every 15 minutes lol

You all might think that I am CrAzY, but I have been playing music (country radio) since we started hatching and for some reason it seemed to 'help' the process. It even calms the little fuzzies.

My temp dropped to 94, so I am trying to get that back up. I also up'd the humidity for the one egg, well that caused the membrane to get stuck to his nose. So this poor little chick was in there barley able to breath. This is just to much work

When you have to help a chick with drying membrane, make sure you very, very gently pull the membrane away from the beak so a flap of it can't come down and seal the nostrils.
It is super stressful, but hang in there and think positive thoughts about fuzzy butts.

Here I am!

The first picture are the first two hatched and in the brooder. Had to take them out because they were running all over the tops of the eggs and were getting close to the heating element! I have one more in there now that looks pretty interesting and will post it once it is all dry and fluffy! These are BO roo over I think the RIR hens. The third one that I have not posted yet has the same roo daddy but I am thinking mom is either the Partridge Rock or the Dark Cornish(Cornish Cross?). We will see.....she is gold and has dark streaks all over...can't wait until she dries.

Four more in the incubator pipped. One further than the others. BUT.....the really, really good news......one is a cochin egg!!!!! The second picture is my Cochin Roo...Sweet Harry and his two black Cochin girls. Mother and Daughter. But Big Momma was killed by the racoon! That is why it is so important to get some cochins....I love me some Cochins!!

Back to the incubator. Have not dressed and have not showered and hardly slept!!

We might have another chick withing the hour.

The one that was kinda stuck in his/her egg was actually the other way around, her/his egg was just stuck to its feathers by dried up membrane. Got the egg off and put him/her back in the bator for bit to finish drying where I had to get a little water around the area. Now he/she is CHEEPING like crazy, wants out. But all that cheeping is helping one of the other eggs along.
