Little Giant Incubation Experiment - Day 21 - Hatch Day!

Mine did the same if it makes you feel better. When the humidity would go down a little, the temp would go up. When I saw it at 100 I would pull out my sponge and wet it. It usually went back down, (because I don't warm my water, it's room temp.)

I thought I heard peeping but, you know when you have a chick already out in there it makes it hard to distinguish. Anyway I looked down in the incubator and one of the eggs did a little rocking so..... I will let it alone. As I said earlier going to be a long night. lol
I have the brooder all set up and waiting need to put a thermometer in there though. Kinda hard when all the thermometers are in use in the bators. Lol

This is a great thread, I like my 4200 with fan it does really good, one thing I have learned with these are to bore a hole and insert a hose or if you prefer stick a hose through one of the manufactured holes and use a piece of fish tank tubing to add water that way you can plug the hose and not have to open the lid. And another thing I have thought about trying is to use some wood and secure the lid with hinges on one side to ease in the opening and closing of the lid, and for a better seal ad thin weather striping, while running the power cords through the bottom as so there is a permeate wiring route that doesn't interfer with the seal and aggravation of opening and closing of the lid. I also have a Hovabator still air I like it as well and find it easier to maintain humity and temperature, it also needs the same modifications as my 4200 but I am still learning with both and each hatch seams to be improving.

You know the first one must have really wanted out because it pipped/zipped and egg-scaped in about 5-7 minutes. Egg #7 took a couple hours to zip and egg-scape and egg # 6 has been egg-scaping for 20 minutes now and still not out.
