I started reading this thread when I set my eggs. This is my second time using my LG I'm hoping I have better luck this time after reading all the great tips. I set my eggs 17 days ago and I am hearing internal pips and rocking so I am getting ready for lock down. I will let you all know how I make out.

I'm hearing internal peeps but no pipping yet. I have to work over night tonight so I'm sure I'll be stressed leaving.

The humidity keeps fluctuating from 65% to 75% I'm having a hard time keeping it above 65% so I'm afraid when I leave for work it will stay there. I have two small mason jars with sponges and I keep spraying water through the holes when the humidity drops too low.

I just wanted to post a thank you to everyone who posted about their experiences with the LG. Thanks to you we hatched 31of 40 eggs our first try! It took a long time to get through the entire thread, but it was well worth it.

I only have 3 years of experience running my LG-- but it has been full of challenges!! ANd full of hatching chicks and poults and ducklings!! Chookschick was kind enough to hold my hand the first time-- she has a nice cheat sheet on the LG.

Yay!!! I learned new things too. I hope people keep adding comments. I love learning as much as I can about something I love so much. My LG is going in my daughters classroom tomorrow. Wish me luck.

Cmom has been very dedicated to this thread and know so much more than I. I just try to post often enough to keep it visible for the nobbies trying out the LG model.

Good luck-- just know the temp might need adjusting in the new home. ANd monitor the air cells or wt loss, which ever, in the new home. Might need a little tweeking,

JUst know that ther is nothing you can do now to change anything -- you would just be sitting and pulling your hair out watching. Too soon to have any that need assistance. So add a couple more jars-- jelly jars, baby food jars, with sponges. I can get to 80% and steadish. *0% is turkeys, so don't think 80% is your goal. 50-65% will be fine. ANd as they hatch the moisture fromt he egg adds to the % RH.

Thank you Arielle I put two more small mason jars in there with sponges and the humidity is holding steady at 70% Your definitely right I would be up all night watching if I were home. I have my incubator right by my bed so I've been worrying too much already

It will be a long night at work!
