My 17 chicks are 6 1/2 weeks old. On 3 of them I see little nubs beginning to show on their legs slightly inside and above their back toes. Those 3 appear larger than the others. Does this mean they are most likely roosters? Please tell me no. I don't want to lose any of them..... I know, I know. It's part of all things chickeny.

All chickens have those spur nubs. Some grown hens even have spurs that would make a rooster proud. I think it is way too early to try to sex your chicks by the spur nubs.

At 6-1/2 weeks it is quite possible we could help you with sex if you can post photos of those three. We need a close-up of the head showing comb and wattles. Another profile shot showing legs, posture, and general body configuration can really help. They are still too young for saddle or hackle feathers to help.
