Mine do that too! They spill their feed EVERYWHERE. Ugh...

Mine have also been doing the sneezing thing.

But it's only one chick and it doesn't happen ver offen. Hmm...

Make SURE and DOUBLY sure and TRIPLY sure that they are dry. It doesn't take much moisture for chicks to show respiratory symptoms. THey need to be in a draft free place, but they DO need air ciculation. Also, they can easily dump over a waterer, and when shavings are wet, this could cause a problem.

Are there any chemicals nearby? I had a batch that I brooded in the garage once, and I noticed they began to sneeze the 2nd day I moved them there. I finally figured out it was due to the chemical smells in the garage (gas, welding fumes, etc.).

Blue Seal is a good brand; is it medicated?

Watch them closely for signs of them getting lethargic or not eating. I'm not a proponent of using antibiotics just because they seem sick, but you'll get varying opinions on it.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Where did you get the chicks?

If you have cleared all other possibilities, it may be a mycoplasma developing and you should use LS 50, it is specifically developed for chicks and mycoplasmas.

You can get it from First State Veterinary Supply.
