My littles are starting to be biggens. Today/tonight (should say last night since it's AM) was their first whole 24 hrs in the coop. Without Mum taking them out for sandwiches on her bed and nighty night time. Mum was sure to give them three long visits and shower them with lovens though. I can say they made me "AAWW!" like 60 billion times as I haven't seen them this clingy and Mum dependent since they were days old. Both of them came running onto my lap, gave me their undivided attention *that is hard if you're a chicken* and cuddled into me like mad. Of course I would have enjoyed it more if they had loved on me first THEN the had a sand bath. But that is WAY too much to ask from a chicken. What are your experiences with putting them out there?
Despite how much I love them they are unnamed. I failed "naming animals" and had to re-take it twice. Help me BYC? Both are pullets, so far. Rhode Island Red and an Easter Egg. EE is a quirky but terribly annoying thing. She plays king of the pile on anything living when she feels like it, doesn't mind rough handling, chases fingers and has decided she is the sand worm from Dune. No, I'm not kidding. She flung sand into my eyes. RIR panics when being handled but really loves to nest on my lap, very sweet, easily frightened and reminds me of an old lady with some critical alzheimer's. RIR loves oatmeal, she'll OD on it if I let her. I thought about it but Oatmeal as name is kind of...?
Coop and the not so done run
Mums new bedazzled pants
The girls
For lack there of better name (unless you help) OATMEAL
LITERALLY, A butt head. Do you see it? *click for full size*
